2012-2013 Win-a-Plane fundraiser
The 1940 Air Terminal Museum is raffling this vintage Piper Cherokee 140 as a fundraiser. Raffle tickets for the fundraising contest are available for $50 each starting on October 27, 2012, and no more than 2,500 tickets will be sold. The winner will be announced at the Museum's July 2013 Wings & Wheels open-house, or an earlier Wings & Wheels if all tickets have been sold. The raffle airplane will be on display at the Museum's monthly Wings & Wheels open houses, at fly-ins and air shows and at popular flying destinations throughout the contest.
Our 140 is a classic Cherokee featuring red and black cheat lines, a fully featured, IFR capable panel, and less than 650 SMOH. It also features the 160 HP conversion.
To buy tickets:
- You can buy your tickets using cash, check or credit card in person at the museum, or at one of our many fly-in events.
- You can call the museum at 713-454-1940 with your credit card details
- You can send in a check for $50 to the museum address. If you mail a check, please make sure to include correspondence that you wish to purchase a raffle ticket, or call the museum ahead of time to let them know you are sending payment. Click here for the mailing address.
- You can buy your tickets online - click here to buy online
Please note that you do not have to be present to win, but you must have your ticket stub in order to claim your prize. If you are able to make it to the giveaway event, we would love to have the winner on site when we give it away!
Tickets will continue to be on sale until Friday July 19, 2013 at NOON CDT, or until we sell out of all tickets, whichever comes first. If we sell out, we will give the airplane away at the next Wings & Wheels following the sell-out, otherwise, we will give it away on Saturday July 20, 2013, no matter how many tickets are sold.
