Women in aviation day and Cessna day - take two!

This month was all about women in aviation. Since last month's Cessna day was rained out, we decided to have a make up day this month.

We had a special guest on hand, Monika Petrillo. She presented her movie, Flyabout for the Wings & Wheels audience. It is a documentary of her and her father's trip around Australia with a group of other people in single engine planes.

The Houston chapter of the 99's was also on hand, they had a raffle drawing for an hour in the simulator at FlightSafety. Our guest, Monika Petrillo was tasked with selecting the winning ticket!

The Houston chapter of Women in Aviation International was also on hand to discuss and promote the role of women in today's aviation industry.

We had a few Cessnas on the ramp, including a Cessna 421, the Cessna Bobcat on loan to the museum, Drew Coats' Cessna T-41 (172K) and of course our current raffle plane, N9379B, along side last year's raffle plane, N7433A, flown in by it's winner Larry Smith with museum volunteer Angelo LaCognata. We had a Cheetah, a Cub, and a Champ join us as well!
