Pops & Props 2011
The 1940 Air Terminal Museum is pleased to announce the 7th Annual Pops & Props Gala and Silent Auction on Saturday, April 2, 2011, at 7:00 p.m. This black tie optional event will be held at the 1940 Air Terminal Museum at 8325 Travelair Road on the West Side of William P. Hobby Airport. On behalf of the Board of Directors of the Houston Aeronautical Heritage Society, we invite you to be an Underwriter or Table Sponsor. You may also purchase individual tickets to the event.
The 1940 Air Terminal Museum will be your gateway into a bygone era. As night falls on the airport, guests will arrive and be greeted by tuxedoed waiters bearing trays of delicious canapés and flutes of champagne. Vintage aircraft will be spotlighted on the Museum’s tarmac and vintage automobiles will be displayed around the Terminal. A 1940’s style big band will play hits from Glenn Miller and other 1940’s big band leaders as swing dancers warm up the dance floor. After a multi-course seated dinner, guests will be invited to bid on a unique selection of once-in-a-lifetime vacations, art, antiques, aviation collectibles and more on the Silent Auction tables and dance the night away.
