Pops & Props 2009
The 1940 Air Terminal Museum is pleased to announce completion of its Phase II restoration and expansion.
To celebrate, we hosted the 5th Annual Pops & Props Gala and Silent Auction on Saturday, June 6, 2009.
For one magical evening, the 1940 Air Terminal Museum was transformed into an elegant scene from a bygone era. As night fell on the airport, guests arrived and were greeted by tuxedoed waiters bearing trays of delicious canapes and flutes of champagne. Vintage aircraft were spotlighted on the Museum’s tarmac and vintage automobiles were displayed around the Terminal.
In the shadow of the museum's 1943 Lockheed Lodestar, a live brass ensemble played hits from Glenn Miller and other 1940's big band leaders as swing dancers warm up the dance floor. After an elegantly catered dinner, guests were invited to bid on a unique selection of once-in-a-lifetime vacations, art, antiques, aviation collectibles and more on the Silent Auction tables and dance the night away.
