The Houston Aeronautical Heritage Society is restoring the long vacant Houston Municipal Airport Terminal as the 1940 Air Terminal Museum, and interactive museum showcasing the and importance of civil aviation since the dawn of manned flight.
The next phase of the Houston Aeronautical Heritage Society’s 1940 Air Terminal Museum is now underway. We are restoring additional portions of Houston’s original art-deco air terminal and soon we will be building a new museum exhibit hangar. The Houston Aeronautical Heritage Society has been recognized as a tax-exempt organization by the IRS under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. We invite you to become a member of the 1940 Air Terminal Museum and be a part of this exciting project.
All members will receive the 1940 Air Terminal newsletter, The Starliner, a membership card and certificate, enjoy free admission to the museum during regular business hours, discounted admission at monthly events, and exclusive opportunities to participate in museum contests and fundraisers. We also recognize all our valued members once a year with a member-appreciation party.


You could win your own plane!
The Museum is currently holding a raffle fundraiser to give away an award-winning 1947 Cessna 140 Airplane. The winner will be drawn on July 19th, 2008 at our Wings and Wheels Saturday open house event. Lifetime members joining the Museum between now and the conclusion of the raffle will receive one or more tickets for the raffle.

                                                Museum Membership Levels:

All Annual Members will receive, in addition to the benefits listed above, a 10% discount on Museum merchandise and gift shop items.


Observation Deck - $75
Every year, Observation Deck Members will receive a t-shirt with that year’s newest design. This year’s t-shirt features an art deco rendering of the building with bold colors. In accordance with IRS guidelines, the reasonably equivalent value of an Observation Deck membership is $5.00

Barnstormer - $194
Every year, Barnstormer Members will receive a hard-cover, signed copy of the annual promoted book. The current book is "Houston Deco", by Jim Parsons and David Bush. In accordance with IRS guidelines, the reasonably equivalent value of a Barnstormer membership is $15.00

Travelair - $500
Every year, Travelair Members will receive one (1) raffle ticket for the annual Win-A-Plane raffle contest and their choice of that year’s museum t-shirt or promoted book. In accordance with IRS guidelines, the reasonably equivalent value of a Travelair membership is $20.00

All Members at or above the Clipper Level will receive basic membership benefits for life, complimentary admission to the Museum’s monthly Wings & Wheels open house, and a 15% discount on Museum merchandise and gift shop items.

Clipper- $940
Clipper Members will be permanently honored with a granite tile bearing their names in the museum atrium. In accordance with IRS guidelines, the reasonably equivalent value of a Clipper membership is $50.00

Starliner - $1940
Starliner Members will receive a limited edition reproduction print of a frieze from the 1940 Air Terminal, and a granite tile bearing their names in the museum atrium.. In accordance with IRS guidelines, the reasonably equivalent value of a Starliner membership is $100.00

Texanaire - $5,000
Texanaire Members will be permanently recognized on marble wall tiles in the Museum atrium, receive a reproduction print of all four friezes surrounding the building, and a reserved table for all future Pops & Props gala dinners. In accordance with IRS guidelines, the reasonably equivalent value of a Texanaire membership is $500.00
